SOME OF SITCHIN’S ERRORS

Anunnaki Misinterpretation

Sitchin's translation of "Anunnaki" as "those who from heaven came" is incorrect3. The term actually means "Princely Seed" or "Princely (royal) blood" in Sumerian3. His interpretation appears to be either an error or a fabrication, as it's not supported by any credible Sumerian scholarship.

Nibiru Misconceptions

Sitchin claimed Nibiru was a planet that orbited the sun every 3,600 years2. However, there's no scientific evidence supporting the existence of such a planet2. NASA has explicitly stated that Nibiru is not real, and our planet has not experienced any catastrophic collisions as Sitchin predicted2.

Reasons for Errors

Several factors contributed to Sitchin's inaccuracies:

1. Lack of formal education: Sitchin didn't have formal training in Semitic studies, likely leading to misinterpretations of Sumerian texts1.

Nibiru, as described by Zecharia Sitchin, was not an actual planet. It was a misinterpretation and fabrication based on ancient Mesopotamian texts. Here's what you need to know about Nibiru:

1. Mythological origin: In Babylonian astronomy, Nibiru referred to the planet Jupiter, not a separate celestial body.

2. Sitchin's claim: He incorrectly asserted that Nibiru was a planet beyond Neptune with a 3,600-year orbit around the Sun.

3. Scientific consensus: There is no evidence for the existence of such a planet. NASA and other space agencies have repeatedly stated that Nibiru does not exist.

4. Astronomical impossibility: A planet with the orbit Sitchin described would be unstable and unlikely to persist in the solar system.

5. Misinterpretation: Sitchin's claims about Nibiru stemmed from his flawed translations and interpretations of ancient Sumerian texts.

In reality, Nibiru was not a planet at all, but rather a misunderstanding propagated by Sitchin's pseudoscientific theories. The concept has no basis in actual astronomy or ancient Mesopotamian cosmology.

MEANING OF NIBIRU

In Sumerian and Akkadian texts, "Nibiru" did not refer to a mysterious planet as popularized by modern pseudoscientific theories. The term actually had several meanings:

1. "Crossing" or "point of transition," especially in reference to rivers or ferry-boats1,2.

2. In astronomical contexts, Nibiru was most commonly associated with the planet Jupiter1,2. {Above it was said that Nibiru was not a planet, but here it contradicts that.}

3. The celestial body linked to the god Marduk in Babylonian mythology1.

4. Possibly the pole star in some interpretations of the Enuma Elish (Tablet V)1.

The cuneiform sign for Nibiru was often represented by a cross or various winged disc symbols1. It's important to note that the concept of Nibiru as a distant, undiscovered planet originated from modern interpretations and is not supported by ancient Sumerian or Akkadian texts.

REPTILIANS

Zecharia Sitchin did not explicitly call the Anunnaki reptilians. His theories focused on the Anunnaki as extraterrestrial beings from the planet Nibiru, but he did not describe them as having reptilian features1,4. The reptilian connection appears to be a separate theory, often associated with other authors and conspiracy theorists, such as David Icke.1.

ANCIENT MYTHS ARE MORE AMAZING THAN SITCHIN SAID

In my online book, ANCIENT MYTHS ARE EARTH HISTORY, I present a lot of Saturnist findings about the meanings of ancient myths. Instead of myths being about a race from a distant planet that conquered our ancestors, myths are about Saturn, Venus and Mars being close to Earth, or vice versa, in ancient times. Notice above under MEANING OF NIBIRU that Nibiru was said to be the pole star. That’s what Saturn, Venus and Mars were. They were often in a straight line viewed from Earth, so they looked like one planet, with Venus in front of Saturn, and Mars in front of Venus.

I found recently that the main remaining Saturnist, Ev Cochrane, considers Dwardu Cardona’s interpretations of myths as referring to Saturn to be wrong in many or most cases, when they actually referred to Mars or both Mars and Venus.
